1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Rs 55,000-cr worth of infrastructure projects announced for Assam

Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari has announced infrastructure projects worth about Rs 55,000 crore for Assam.

Among the key projects is a 12 km underwater tunnel between Gohpur and Numaligarh, estimated to cost Rs 15,000 crore. A detailed project report has been prepared, and the Ministry of Defence has granted clearance. He made the announcement via a video message on the second day of the Advantage Assam 2.0 investor summit in Guwahati.

The investments include the Guwahati Ring Road project (Rs 5,800 crore), a four-lane road from Guwahati to Panchgram via Barapani (Rs 25,000 crore), Kaziranga Elevated Corridor (Rs 6,000 crore), a new road improving connectivity between Jagiroad and Bhutan via Bhairabkunda (Rs 3,225 crore), and a ropeway to enhance access to the Kamakhya pilgrimage site. 

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced investments exceeding Rs 4,800 crore to develop Assam’s inland waterways. Under the ‘Harit Nauka’ scheme, Rs 1,500 crore has been allocated to transition into green vessels by 2030. Another Rs 1,500 crore will be used to enhance cruise tourism and cargo handling capacity in waterways NW2 and NW16 by 2027-28. Additionally, Rs 375 crore has been earmarked for Phase II of the ship repair facility at Pandu.
