The Jammu and Kashmir government informed the Legislative Assembly that the proposed Rs 700 crore, seven-km four-lane flyover project from Lal Chowk to Parimpora Junction has been approved under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) 2025-26 action plan.

The project, one of 19 major infrastructure developments for the Union Territory, is aimed at easing congestion along a key traffic route in Srinagar. Currently, the project is in its early stages, with survey, design, and detailed project report (DPR) preparation underway. The MoRTH approved the action plan, which includes multiple national highway projects for Jammu and Kashmir.

Topographical surveys, geotechnical investigations, and Automatic Traffic Counter and Classifier (ATCC) studies are in progress. The final design will be submitted to MoRTH for approval before construction begins.
