Construction work has started on the new elevated road project connecting the Gopalpura railway overbridge to Gurhar ki Thadi, aimed at easing traffic congestion in Jaipur.
To minimise disruptions during the 30-month project, engineers and traffic police have devised a plan to carry out construction in 125-mtrs. stretches at a time. Traffic will not face blanket stops or diversions; instead, service lanes will merge with the main road, reducing the road width by no more than five mtrs. Work is currently underway on two pilings—one near Riddhi Siddhi Circle and the other at Triveni Tiraha.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma laid the foundation stone for the project on September 29, with completion expected in 30 months. Officials are confident the project will not cause major traffic disruptions.
