Surana Telecom and Power, on 15 April, acquired 51 per cent stake in Arhyama Energy, a renewable energy company.
Arhyama Energy is implementing a 10 MW solar power project in the neighbouring Nalgonda district of Telangana. The company has put land and power purchase agreements (PPAs) in place for the proposed project, while Surana Telecom will make the rest of the investment to complete the project following the acquisition. The project is expected to be completed by August-September this year.
The total investment of this solar power project is Rs 82.80 crore. Arhyama Energy signed a PPA with Genpact under the open access route for supply of six MW power. A similar pact was signed with a pharmaceutical company for the remaining four MW.
Presently, Surana Telecom and Power is running its five MW solar power project at Gujarat Solar Park, and a five MW solar power plant through its subsidiary, Surana Solar Systems, in Medak district of Telangana. Also, another 10 MW solar project is under construction, taking the total installed capacity to 30 MW after completion of these projects.
