Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) expansion plan is on track even with
the slowdown and recessionary trend experienced in the IT industry over the
last three quarters.
Work on the Noida development centre is complete, while work on the
software facility at Madhapur in Hyderabad has commenced recently and is likely
to be completed in the next 12 months.
Meanwhile, TCS announced the launch of its
joint venture company with APTS (Andhra Pradesh Technology Services) and its
s-Governance practice. s-Governance stands for SMART-Governance (simple, moral,
accountable, responsive and transparent).
TCS, which had acquired CMC Ltd, has decided
to make the CMC R&D centre, located at Gachibowli in Hyderabad, its centre
for s-Governance practice, which is headquartered at Hyderabad. TCS has about 600
professionals handling the s-Governance practice.
