Tata Steel is mulling the possibilities for supplying skin panels to Toyota's
upcoming 'strategic' small car in India, to be launched by 2011.
According to sources, the company is in discussion with Toyota Kirloskar
Motor (TKM), the Indian JV of the Japan based company with the Kirloskar Group,
for supplying skin panels. TKM is investing Rs 3,200 crore in setting up the
manufacturing facility in Bangalore.
Meanwhile, Tata Steel is expected to start supplying skin panels to Nissan,
which is constructing a car facility in association with French carmaker Renault
in Chennai.
