The Tumakuru–Davangere direct railway line project has been affected due to a delay in land acquisition in Chitradurga and Davangere districts.
The officials have already acquired 109 acre of land in Tumakuru district, and the government has already released Rs 39 crore to purchase the land. However, a slow acquisition process in Chitradurga and Davangere districts due to the negligent attitude of officers has delayed the project.
The government has already released Rs one crore each to both the districts for acquiring the land. Eleven people have applied for the tender, but the authorities are yet to complete the process.
The railway project was approved in 1996.
