Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat inaugurated the Indira Gandhi International sports stadium in Haldwani, on 18 December, 2016.
The estimated cost of the project is above Rs 192.75 crore.
The international stadium, spreading over 70 acre of land, is still under construction and will be ready in the next three months. The stadium will host the 2018 National Games.
The stadium features cricket and football grounds, a hockey field, a track for 800 mtr racing, badminton courts, a boxing ring, a lawn tennis court and a swimming pool.
The stadium also includes a hostel for 150 sportspersons.
The CM also laid the foundation stone for the proposed Carbon Neutral zoo-cum-safari project. The project will spread over 400 acre of land in Haldwani town of Nainital district.
