Andhra Pradesh Road Development
Corporation is likely to commence work on Rajiv Rahadari four-lane road
conversion project (Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Ramagundam road) by August 2008. The
tendering process for the proposed project is expected to be completed by July
2008.
The proposed road covering a stretch
of 207 km will be implemented under public-private partnership on BOT basis, at
an estimated cost of Rs.1,085 crore. Three flyovers at Siddipet, Karimnagar and
Manthani junctions besides seven major bridges and 18 service roads will be
taken up as an integral part of the project. The four-lane project is likely to
be completed by December 2011.
The government has already accorded
administrative sanction for construction of Sircilla bypass road connecting
Karimnagar-Kamareddy road and Sircilla-Siddipet road in the district at an
estimated cost of Rs.9.60 crore for the 2008-09 financial year. This apart,
another important bypass road is proposed to be constructed from Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Ramagundam
road to Karimnagar-Jagtial at another point crossing Karimnagar-Kamareddy road. The project
is likely to cost Rs.20 crore.
