The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Saturday approved major initiatives during its board meeting, including allotment of developed plots to farmers, development of 29 smart villages, and establishment of urban centres in Hathras and Agra.
Under its policy to allocate seven percent of acquired land for farmers’ residential plots, YEIDA issued 6,260 allotment letters across 29 villages, with land development completed in eight villages. For land acquired between 2007–2013, the authority has disbursed Rs 2,835 crore under the No Litigation Incentive scheme, offering 64.7 percent extra compensation.
As part of Master Plan 2041, 29 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr are being developed as smart villages with roads, sewer and drainage systems, water supply, street lighting, parks, solid waste management, and community amenities. Projects worth Rs 60 crore are complete, Rs 78 crore are in progress, and Rs 125 crore are planned by December 2026.
The Board also approved urban centres in Hathras and Agra, spanning 2,000–4,000 hectares over 66 Hathras villages, targeting industrial, residential, logistics, and MSME development. A structural audit policy for multistorey buildings will also be framed in line with Building Regulation 2010.
