Seoul-based textile giant Youngone Corporation on 17 June, 2023 performed the ground-breaking ceremony for setting up of 11 factories as part of its Evertop Textile & Apparel Complex at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) in Warangal district of Telangana.
The project would include dedicated units for manufacturing sportswear, textiles, knitted garments, dyeing and finishing as well as poly products, which would altogether facilitate the creation of work opportunities for 21,000 people, including locals, especially women.
The performance and outdoor apparel and accessories manufacturer has acquired 290 acres of land at KMTP to develop the facilities as per international standards. In the first phase of the 900-crore project, four factories would come up with employment generation potential for 6,000 persons, and the remaining seven units will come up later in subsequent phases.
The 'Made in Telangana' clothing and related products would be exported to international markets, including the US and Europe.
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, along with Republic of Korea (South Korea) Ambassador to India Chang Jae-Bok and Youngone Corporation Chairman & CEO Kihak Sung participated in the ceremony. The Korean ambassador asserted that Telangana's growth story attracted Youngone units to the state.
