Waaree Energies has commenced commercial production at its advanced 1.4 GW monocrystalline PERC (Mono PERC) solar cell manufacturing facility in Chikhli, Gujarat. This marks the first phase of India’s largest solar cell production plant, which will have a total capacity of 5.4 GW upon completion.

The second phase will include the addition of four GW of high-efficiency TOPCon solar cell capacity. The Chikhli facility underscores Waaree’s efforts to boost indigenous manufacturing, reduce import dependency, and stabilize costs amid global supply chain challenges. It will cater to both domestic and international solar markets, aligning with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets by providing a reliable supply of advanced solar technology for power producers and industries.

The Chikhli plant is equipped with cutting-edge production lines, automation systems, and stringent quality control protocols to ensure high efficiency and reliability in solar cell production. Besides its technological advancements, the facility will create significant employment opportunities, contribute to industrial growth, and further establish India as a crucial player in the global solar supply chain.

As this phase becomes operational, Waaree Energies reinforces its leadership in the solar industry, providing high-performance solutions that accelerate India’s transition to renewable energy and support the country’s long-term sustainability goals.
