The board of Petronet LNG has decided
to finalize a deal with Gorgan Projects of Australia for supplying LNG to its
upcoming 2.5 million tpa LNG terminal at Kochi in Kerala. Gorgan will arrange
for LNG supplies through a consortium comprising Chevron, Exxon Mobil and Shell.
In a related development, the EPC
contract for developing the LNG terminal would be awarded before March 2006.
Also, issues relating to transfer of 35 ha of Kochi Port's land at Puthuvypeen
have been sorted out.
