Bangalore Metropolitan Region
Development Authority is taking up a 36,000 crore plan to ease traffic
congestion and to improve infrastructure facilities in and around the city.
The proposed project will involve
construction of two arterial ring roads (6,000 crore) and development of five
townships at Hoskote, Ramanagaram. Magadi and Kanakapura (30,000 crore).
The state has already approached the
centre for funding under the National Highways Development Programme. The
projects will also attract foreign direct investment.
Work on the project is scheduled for
completion within a period of three years.
