KEC International has
bagged a Rs.636 crore order from the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company
for the design, supply and construction of circuit lines. The contract will be
funded by the European Investment Bank and the Egyptian National Bank.
This is the largest
ever order given to an Indian transmission company in Egypt. The order is a
Turnkey project for the design, supply and construction of 500 KV double circuit
lines to be completed in two lots-Lot I from Abu Quir-Kafr EI-Zayat (97 km) and
Lot II from Kafr EI-Zayat to Bassous (99 km). The total length of lines is 196
km and the project is scheduled to be completed in two years time.
