KEC International has bagged overseas orders worth Rs 470 crore from Saudi
Arabia and Chad in Africa.
In Saudi Arabia, the company has secured two orders amounting to Rs 400
crore. The scope of the orders envisages survey, design, engineering, planning,
construction, erection, testing and commissioning of:
i) 380 kV D/c Transmission line of 163 km to be executed in Riyadh. This
order is worth Rs 300 crore and was secured from the Saudi Electricity Company.
ii) 132 kV S/c Transmission line of 69 km between two substations and 37 km
of 33 kV S/c Transmission line on steel poles to be executed in Najran. This
order is worth Rs 100 crore and was secured from the Ministry of Water &
Electricity, Saudi Arabia.
These orders will be executed through the Saudi JV of KEC.
In Chad, the company has bagged an order of Rs 70 crore for rehabilitation,
reinforcement and extension of electricity distribution network for the city of
N'djamena. The Middle East subsidiary of the company is expected to execute this
order.
