The Telangana government has accorded administrative sanction for the water supply distribution network project for peripheral circles of Greater Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs 280 crore.
The project Ring Main-2 is an arrangement of pipes forming a loop which aids in supply of water and will be constructed connecting the rivers Godavari, Krishna with Manjeera. Under ring main-one, Godavari and Manjeera pipeline networks have been connected.
Now this project ring main will connect three river networks of Godavari, Krishna and Manjeera. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has a target to finish the project by the end of 2020.
Under project Ring Main-2 it will be constructing an 18,000 mm dia pipeline around Hyderabad forming network connectivity across the cities. It will form a single network at an estimation of Rs 280 crore and tenders will be finalised shortly and works will commence by April 2020 with a target to complete it by the end 2020.
Once the project is completed, it will aid in effective supply of water to the major cities of Hyderabad such as Kukatpally, Alwal, LB Nagar and other areas connecting nearby.
Godavari pipeline network connectivity will benefit residents of Kukatpally, Alwal and adjoining areas. Krishna connectivity will help efficient supply of water to LB Nagar and outlining areas from the city as well urban areas in the west zone of Hyderabad.
