Midland Contracting has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major urban infrastructure work under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
The scope of the order, to be awarded by the Kerala Water Authority covers the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a 27 million litres per day (MLD) capacity sewage treatment plant (STP) with co-treatment facilities at the Sarovaram Network in Kozhikode Corporation.
The project is part of efforts to upgrade wastewater management infrastructure and improve sanitation standards in the city. The co-treatment provision will enable the facility to process both sewage and septage, enhancing treatment efficiency and environmental compliance. AMRUT 2.0, the second phase of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation, aims to ensure water security, sewage treatment, and improved urban living conditions.
Midland Contracting’s competitive bid at Rs 146.39 crore strengthens its position in the water infrastructure sector, with the project expected to contribute to cleaner waterways and sustainable urban development in Kozhikode.
