Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has entered into a partnership with Adani Cement to advance sustainable logistics in India.
The two MoUs signed on 24 October, 2025, with key officials from both organisations present, focus on using rail-based transportation for bulk cement through specialised tank containers. CONCOR will deploy dedicated container rakes across key rail corridors, leveraging Indian Railways' extensive network to reduce road dependence, promoting environmental sustainability, and enhancing operational efficiency. This partnership aims to cut carbon emissions, streamline logistics, and provide cost savings, aligning with India's net-zero goals and the National Logistics Policy. The initiative also opens doors for similar green solutions in other industries.
"This partnership exemplifies our commitment to innovative, eco-friendly logistics solutions. By harnessing rail's potential for bulk cement transport, we are not only optimizing costs and efficiency but also contributing to a greener future for India's freight ecosystem," said Sanjay Swarup, CMD, CONCOR.
