Southern Railway has floated a tender for the construction of a new broadgauge (BG) railway line between Tindivanam and Arani in Tamil Nadu.
The contract involves two key reaches: Reach I (chainage 3.000 km to 54.500 km) between Tindivanam (excluding) and Cheyyar stations, and Reach II (chainage 54.500 km to 82.000 km) between Cheyyar and Arani (excluding). The scope includes civil engineering, utility shifting, and 2x25 kV overhead electrification (OHE) for the new BG railway line. The work is to be completed in 24 months under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model, with a value of Rs 856.18 crore.
The closing date for bid submisison is 16 December, 2025.
