Delta Electronics India is in the process of expanding its Krishnagiri manufacturing facility with two new factory buildings to meet rising demand from electric vehicle (EV) original equipment makers and industrial customers.
Managing Director Niranjan Nayak said the expansion will increase the workforce from 3,750 to 5,000 in three years while boosting production of telecom, energy infrastructure, power electronics, and EV components. The site, part of a USD 500 million India investment announced in 2015-16, has so far utilised about 65 percent of funds. Delta supplies EV motors, connectors, and charging stations to top two- and threewheeler OEMs such as Ola, TVS, and Ather, and aims for a 40 percent EV market share in three to five years.
To strengthen localisation, currently at 50-55 percent, the company is building a vendor park and training ecosystem. Delta is also constructing a 6,000-bed housing complex for employees. Executive VP Jimmy Yiin called the expansion a milestone in the firm’s ‘Make in India’ commitment, highlighting Krishnagiri’s growing role in global operations.
