In a significant move to reshape Goa’s tourism landscape, foundation stones were laid for four major projects: the Town Square in Porvorim, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Farmagudi, PM Ekta Mall in Chimbel, and the Eco-Tourism Project at Harvalem.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, and Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte presided over the ceremony. The Town Square will offer green urban leisure spaces, while the museum will celebrate Maratha and Konkan heritage. The Rs 200 crore PM Ekta Mall aims to boost local artisans through the “One District, One Product” initiative, supporting entrepreneurship and employment.
Meanwhile, the eco-tourism project in Harvalem focuses on sustainable development with eco-trails and conservation-led infrastructure. Leaders hailed these initiatives as pivotal in transforming Goa into a year-round, experience-driven destination that balances culture, nature, and community empowerment. The projects signal a bold step toward inclusive, sustainable tourism in the state.
