NBCC (India) has commenced construction of a 1.2 km spiral-shaped pedestrian skybridge at Bharat Vandana Park in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka.
Positioned as the Park’s central architectural highlight, the bridge will rise up to 45 mtrs., offering panoramic 360-degree views from its 18-metre-high walkway. The 3.5-metre-wide structure will be supported by nine pylon towers designed to resemble metallic trees. These include six Type A pylons with internal ramps, two Type B with lifts and ramps, and a standout 45-mtrs. Type C pylon featuring an observatory deck.
The bridge's design includes eight cable-stayed spans connected in a rhythmic flow, with the top deck comprising box beams, cantilever sections, and stay cables. Its underside will be clad in reflective stainless steel panels to create a striking “mirror ribbon” effect, visually unifying the pylons from below. NBCC officials say the skybridge’s unique spiral form and tree-like structures aim to create a bold visual identity and landmark feature within the 200-acre DDA-developed park.
