Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that a comprehensive master plan will be prepared to develop Srisailam as a Divya Kshetram and discussed this with Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, and officials during a review meeting.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to visit the Sri Mallikharjuna Swamy temple on October 16, Naidu said the issue of temple development and infrastructure will be raised during his visit. He emphasised improving amenities for pilgrims, similar to Tirumala, while protecting the environment. The CM directed officials to seek approval for the allotment of 2,000 hectares of forest land to expand facilities for devotees, especially from neighbouring Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
CM Naidu also stressed connecting Srisailam to national highways and resolving issues like inadequate parking. He asked officials to coordinate with the Union Ministry of Forest and Environment and prepare an action plan for enhancing the tiger population in the Srisailam Tiger Reserve. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan urged studying models like Sabarimala.
