Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the Pradeshik Sadak Utthan Pariyojna, a major road upgradation project aiming to repair and enhance 4,227 roads covering 9,410 km across the state at a cost of Rs 4,827 crore in the current financial year.
Describing it as a “golden chapter” in Haryana’s infrastructure growth, CM Saini emphasised the project’s role in bridging rural-urban connectivity gaps, boosting economic and social development. The government has already begun repair works on 410 roads.
Over the past 11 years, Haryana has improved 43,703 km of roads and constructed 2,417 km of new roads, with significant progress in railway overbridges and national highways. An additional 2,432 km of roads have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, with an expenditure of Rs 1,077 crore.
The initiative will lower transport costs, reduce pollution, save fuel, and support industry and agriculture. The project includes upgrades across roads managed by multiple agencies like PWD, HSVP, and HSIIDC.
