The Maharashtra State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved a revised budget of Rs 3,295.7 crore for the Solapur-Tuljapur-Dharashiv railway project, which spans 84.4 km.
The state government will bear 50 percent of the project cost. The railway line will enhance connectivity to Tuljapur, an important pilgrimage site, benefiting devotees from various states. The project, under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, aims to connect Marathwada with Western Maharashtra.
Earlier, 50 per cent of the total project cost worth Rs 452.6 crore was approved as per govt decision dated 10 February, 2023. Tthe revised budget accounts for increased costs. The rail line, which commenced in December 2023, is expected to be completed by March 2028.
