The Maharashtra government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lodha Developers to develop a 370-acre Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava City, Dombivli, near Mumbai, with a planned investment of Rs 30,000 crore.
Located in Ambernath, Thane district, the project will have a total planned capacity of two gigawatts and is expected to generate employment for 6,000 people. The initiative stems from the state’s Green Integrated Data Centre Parks policy launched in 2024, following its 2019 move to designate data centres as a ‘thrust area’ for industrial growth. With the rapid rise of cloud computing, AI, and digital services, the demand for large-scale, energy-efficient infrastructure has grown sharply.
The proposed park will be powered by green and alternative energy sources, positioning Maharashtra as a hub for sustainable digital infrastructure. Abhishek Lodha, MD and CEO of Lodha Developers, highlighted the company’s commitment to net zero operations and India’s ambition of global leadership by 2047.
