RailTel Corporation of India has secured a major contract valued at Rs 970.07 crore for setting up science laboratories in Government Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools across Bihar. 

RailTel has received the letter of acceptance (LoA) for the assignment. The order, awarded by the Bihar Education Project Council under the Samagra Shiksha initiative for 2025–26, involves the complete turnkey setup of physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories.  This initiative aligns with the government’s push to improve quality of education and scientific learning. 

The order is aimed at strengthening science education infrastructure in government-run schools and will cover planning, supply, installation, and commissioning of lab facilities across the state. RailTel, a Mini Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, continues to expand its role beyond telecom and ICT services into infrastructure development in the education sector.
