Voltbek Home Appliances, a joint venture (JV) between Voltas and Arcelik, is setting up a home appliances manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The unit will come up at Sanand Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC-II), and will spread over 60 acre of land.
In a recent visit to the project site, a representative from Projects Today learnt that basement level work was underway on the project. Prior to commissioning work on Phase-I, A P C Road Construction was appointed as contractor for the project in June 2018. Phase-I is likely to be commissioned by June 2019.
The foundation stone for the unit was laid in June 2018. The project will be implemented in four phases. The unit will manufacture refrigerators, washing machines and vacuum cleaners.
