KEC International Ltd,
the power transmission EPC company has bagged a Rs.88 crore order from Barik
Tojik, the national electricity company of Tajikistan.
The order is for a
turnkey project to supply and construct 220 KV transmission lines for the
Tajikistan portion of Tajikistan-Afghanistan interconnection project. The lines
are to be constructed from Karadum to Vatz (89.37 km) and from Vatz to Sangtuda
(28.29 km). The project is funded by Asian Development Bank and OPEC fund for
International Development.
The project also
involves construction of an additional 2x200 KV Line Bays at the Sangtuda
Switchward. The total length of lines is 118 km and the project is scheduled to
be completed by June 2009.
